Kevin C. Wall, MD, MPH

Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery, VCU

Dr. Kevin Wall is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in shoulder and scapula disorders. He is currently an Assistant Professor at Virginia Commonwealth University. He sees patients with both simple and complex conditions and believes in the importance of always exhausting nonsurgical treatment options before considering surgery.

He treats common shoulder issues such as rotator cuff and labral tears, arthritis, instability and fractures with a combination of open and arthroscopic approaches and is additionally well-versed in the newest techniques of tendon transfers, joint reconstruction and joint replacements. Many of these newer techniques are necessary when patients’ first or second surgeries do not give them the outcome they desired.

Dr. Wall also has in-depth fellowship training in scapular disorders and rare shoulder conditions. These disorders are often under-recognized and misdiagnosed but can cause patients significant pain and difficulty with even simple tasks. To manage these complex disorders, he believes in a complete workup to confirm the diagnosis, followed by thorough patient education and initiation of treatment tailored to the underlying cause.
